PLAQUE DESIGN OPTIONS
Below are some of the standard border styles, colors and mounting options available. Please keep in mind that plaques can be almost any size and shape — you are not limited to certain dimensions or proportions, and there is generally no additional charge for odd shapes or measurements.
There are some more "traditional" plaque color combinations, but changing background colors can certainly make a plaque more interesting for certain situations and locations. Adding logos or graphics is also possible.
Just tell me what you have in mind and let me see what I can do with it.
I'm happy to make suggestions if you're not sure!
Plaque Materials

The traditional plaque material — reddish gold raised letters & border

Silver raised letters and border, lighter in weight, and can cost 10% to 30% less than bronze, depending on overall plaque size.

Plaque Production Methods
Cast
Precision-tooled
(machined)
This is the most cost-effective method of production. The background of plaque is machined from a solid slab of bronze or aluminum, leaving the raised letters and border. The depth of plaque is usually 1/4" or 5/16", depending on material and overall plaque dimensions
In the traditional plaque-making method, a mold is crafted, and the plaque is cast in molten bronze or aluminum. Instead of flat, the back of the plaque is recessed, allowing it to be much deeper without the added material (and weight) of a thick solid slab. The plaque can be made virtually any depth from 3/8" for smaller plaques up to 1½" for very large plaques.

Standard Background Colors (Other Colors Available)
Colors may not appear exactly correct because of screen differences.

The background color should provide sufficient contrast with the raised bronze letters.
Some of the most popular background colors are shown here, but other standard colors are available.
Dark oxide and brown are often considered "traditional" background colors for many bronze plaques, but other colors can work great!

The background color should provide sufficient contrast with the raised brushed silver letters on aluminum plaques.

Black is often considered the "traditional" background color for many aluminum plaques, but other colors can work great!
OXIDATION
A process to "age" the appearance of the plaque (bronze only)

No additional cost to make the plaque look less "new".
Less contrast between background and darker text.
CLEAR COAT
"Satin" is standard

Countersunk mounting screws are painted to match the background color of the plaque

Rosettes (Optional Screw Covers)

ETCHED

SCULPTED image is created from photo, and is cast in bronze or aluminum.
BAS RELIEF

Photo (this is a photo of a painting) becomes the printed background of the plaque, with raised letters positioned strategically.
